Cooking Technique: Air Fryer

Cuisine: American

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 4 French rolls (can substitute with baguette or any other long rolls)
  • ½ cup mustard
  • ½ mayonnaise
  • sliced turkey, about 12 slices
  • 2 cups shredded turkey
  • Swiss cheese, about 12 slices
  • 6 whole dill pickles, sliced longways
  • 4 tbsp butter
The Cubano Sandwich was created by Cuban immigrants in Florida and is now a beloved Cuban-American classic. A traditional Cubano sandwich includes roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard, pressed to perfection. However, we’ve made a slight twist, sharing a version that uses turkey and is a favorite of our founder.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Slice rolls in half. Spread one half with mayonnaise and the other with mustard.
  2. On the bottom half, add one slice of Swiss cheese. Then layer 3 slices of turkey on top. Then place warmed shredded turkey on top. Add 2 more slices of Swiss cheese and top with pickles. Put the top half roll on and press down gently, making sure nothing falls out.
  3. Spread the tops of the sandwiches with butter.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer to 375 degrees F and heat sandwiches for about 8 Minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  5. Cut in half and enjoy with A Dozen Cousins Cuban Black Beans.
