Ingredients

  • ½ lb. shrimp
  • 4 slices of milk bread
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 egg white
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. sesame oil, divided
  • 2 tbsp. green onions, finely sliced
  • ⅛ tsp. MSG
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 4 tbsp. ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • ½ tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp. sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp. gochugaru

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Devein, peel, and mince the shrimp into a paste.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp paste, baking soda, garlic salt, garlic powder, onion powder, egg white, pepper, cornstarch, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, green onions, and MSG.
  3. Cut the crust off of the milk bread slices and smear the shrimp paste mixture on evenly.
  4. Brush oil onto the outside of the sandwich and air fry at 350°F / 176°C for 10 minutes and flip half way through.
  5. To make the sweet and spicy dipping sauce, mix the ketchup, oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and gochugaru in a small bowl. Enjoy!
