Ingredients

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1-12 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp cooking sake
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
This style of egg can be expensive to buy ready-made. With the Instant Pot, you can easily make these eggs at home, anytime. Don't take our word for it though, give it a try!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pour water into the inner pot and place in your Instant Pot.
  2. Place eggs in the inner pot on the included steam rack.
  3. Set steam release to the Sealing position.
  4. Select Pressure Cook or Manual, set to High pressure and adjust to 3 minutes.
  5. After cooking, let sit 5 minutes for Natural Release, then Quick Release.
  6. Let soak in ice water bath for 5 minutes for fast cooling and easy peeling.
  7. Crack and remove egg shells.
  8. Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl, then place the eggs in with the marinade.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before eating.
