Mussels in White Wine


  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup onion
  • ⅓ cup chives, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic. minced
  • ½ red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 lb fresh mussels with shell well washed, without the beard, 1 kg
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Cilantro, as garnish
  • Lemon, for serving
  • Place the stainless steel inner pot inside the Instant Pot®. Press Saute and set cook time to 3 Minutes. Add 1 tbsp olive oil, onion, chives, garlic, and pepper.
  • Once done, add the mussels. Add the cup of white wine and a cup of water. Add ½ tsp of salt.
  • Close and lock the Instant Pot® lid. Make sure the steam release handle is turned to Sealing. Press Pressure Cook, pressure level High, and set time to 4 Minutes.
  • Once the time is up, let the steam release naturally or turn the steam release handle.
  • Once all the pressure is released, open the lid and serve the mussels with the broth. You can add lemon and cilantro to garnish.
