Ingredients

  • 18 oz frozen puff pastry
  • 4 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 12 ham
  • 12 Swiss Cheese
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • salt
  • sesame seeds
When mornings are busy, its best to have breakfast all sorted out. These satisfying and filling ham and cheese puff pastry tarts can be made ahead of time and reheated for an easy on-the-go snack!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Lay out the puff pastry sheets on a cutting board. Slice into 12 even rectangles.
  2. Fold the ham slices in half, and the cheese slices in half.
  3. Spread a spoonful of mustard over the center of each rectangle, leaving a border around the sides.
  4. Place a folded piece of cheese diagonally across each rectangle (from top left corner, to bottom right corner). Top each piece of cheese with slice of ham.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and egg yolk. Lightly brush the cream mixture around the edges of each puff pastry.
  6. Gently fold the top right corner over to the bottom left corner, connecting in the middle of the pastry. Gently squeeze the corners so they seal shut, leaving the other corners with the ham and cheese exposed.
  7. Brush the rest of the puff pastry with the heavy cream. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and salt.
  8. Individually place in the air fryer basket. Air Fry in batches at 400°F / 205°C for 6-8 Minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the pastry is golden. Repeat as necessary. Serve warm or room temperature.
