Recipe Details

Course: Appetizer

Difficulty: Easy

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 8-10 minutes

Total Time: 20 Minutes

Cooking Technique: Air Fry

Cuisine: Mediterranean

Yield: 8 Stuffed Figs

Ingredients

  • 8 fresh figs
  • 2 oz. goat cheese, room temperature
  • ½ lemon, juice and zest
  • Salt, as needed
  • Freshly ground black pepper, as needed
  • 8 slices prosciutto
  • 1-2 tsp. honey, for drizzling
  • 1-2 tsp. balsamic glaze, for drizzling
  • 8 fresh basil leaves, chiffonade

Sweet, salty, creamy, and crisp—these little bites check every box on the flavor wheel. Ripe figs are stuffed with tangy goat cheese brightened with lemon, then wrapped in silky prosciutto and crisped to perfection in the air fryer. A drizzle of honey and balsamic glaze plus a sprinkle of basil takes them from simple to stunning. Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or just want a snack that feels extra, this Mediterranean-inspired appetizer is proof that elegance doesn’t have to be complicated.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Slice each fig in half lengthwise, but not cutting through completely. Gently press the center of each half to create a small well.
  2. Mix the room temperature goat cheese with the lemon juice and zest. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon about ½ - 1 teaspoon of goat cheese into the center of each fig half and gently press together. Do not overfill.
  3. Carefully separate each slice of prosciutto and fold in half lengthwise. Wrap each stuffed fig with a strip of prosciutto, securing the seam underneath so it stays in place.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F / 190°C. Place the figs seam-side down in the basket, leaving space between them. Air Fry for 8–10 minutes, until the prosciutto is crispy.
  5. Remove figs and let rest for 1–2 minutes. Lightly drizzle with honey and balsamic glaze, then finish with basil and cracked black pepper. Serve warm.

TIPS & TRICKS

Nuttier Twist: Place a roasted walnut or almond in the goat cheese before wrapping for extra crunch.
Pairing: These figs pair beautifully with a glass of prosecco or a dry rosé.
