Remove crust from bread slices; flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin. Brush the bread edges with egg wash. For every slice of bread, place 1½ slices of cheese and some ham in the middle, leaving a ⅓” (1 cm) border. Cover with another slice of bread (brushed with egg wash on inside) and join the edges, pressing with your fingers to seal.
Brush the top of the bread with egg wash and sprinkle abundantly with breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are generously coated.
On the Instant Vortex control panel, press Air Fry, then set time to 4 Minutes and the temperature to 375°F (190°C). Press Start.
When Add Food appears on the display panel, place the pieces of bread in the air fryer.
When done, remove from Instant Vortex and serve immediately.
