Cooking Technique: Air Fry

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. chicken wings
  • 3 tsp. salt, divided
  • 2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 12 oz. fresh cranberries
  • ⅓ cup sriracha sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice (about 3 oranges), 1 zested
  • 1 tsp. ginger, grated
  • ⅓ cup apple cider
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Scallions, for garnish

A perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy! These crispy air-fried wings are tossed in a vibrant glaze made with tart cranberry sauce, fiery Sriracha, and brown sugar. Finished with fresh scallions, they’re a bold twist on classic wings that are perfect for holiday gatherings.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 2 teaspoons of salt, pepper, garlic powder, sesame oil, ground cumin, smoked paprika and baking powder. Toss the wings in the mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F / 190°C.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air Fry for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
  6. While the wings are cooking, combine the cranberries, sriracha, orange juice, orange zest, ginger, apple cider, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt in a medium saucepan.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil over Medium heat, then reduce the heat to Low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  8. Adjust sweetness or heat to taste, if necessary. Then blend until smooth.
  9. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm cranberry sriracha sauce over the wings and toss until well coated.
  10. Plate the wings and garnish with sliced scallions. Serve immediately and enjoy!
