Classic Gravy


  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups chicken, turkey, or vegetable stock
  • 1/4 tsp dry thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dry rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • sea salt
  • ground black pepper
  • Select SAUTE-NORMAL and set it for 30 minutes.
  • Add the butter and let it melt, add the flour, stir to combine, and cook for about 5 minutes until the roux is deep brown.
  • Gradually and stirring constantly to prevent lumps, pour in the stock, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Bring to a boil.
  • Add the dry thyme, rosemary, and garlic powder. Stir until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Press CANCEL to turn off the pot.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Serve with your favorite dish and enjoy.
