Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups chicken, turkey, or vegetable stock
  • 1/4 tsp dry thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dry rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • sea salt
  • ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Select SAUTE-NORMAL and set it for 30 minutes.
  2. Add the butter and let it melt, add the flour, stir to combine, and cook for about 5 minutes until the roux is deep brown.
  3. Gradually and stirring constantly to prevent lumps, pour in the stock, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add the dry thyme, rosemary, and garlic powder. Stir until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste
  5. Press CANCEL to turn off the pot.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  7. Serve with your favorite dish and enjoy.
