Basic Basmati Rice


  • 2 cups rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Measure and rinse two cups of basmati rice under cool running water until water runs clear, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Strain well and add rice and salt to Instant Pot.
  • Using the same measuring cup as the rice, measure two cups of cool water and add to pot. Secure lid and fasten shut.
  • Select Pressure Cook and adjust time to 5 MINUTES.
  • Allow 10 minutes of Natural Release after cooking, then flip the steam valve to quick release any remaining pressure.
  • Fluff rice with a fork or rice spatula, and enjoy!
