Air Fryer Andhra Chicken (Spicy Chicken)

Ingredients
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 4 garlic clove
  • 1 ½ tsp ground coriander
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tsp chili powder
  • 1 ½ Tamarind paste
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ¾ tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • ¾ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 5 chicken drumsticks
  • Cooking spray as needed
  • Cilantro chutney as needed
Instructions
  • In a blender grind the onions, curry leaves, garlic cloves, red chili powder, ground coriander, salt, pepper, tamarind paste, garam masala, ginger garlic paste. Process until completely smooth. You can add one tablespoon or 2 tablespoon of water to blend if needed.
  • Cut 2 to 4 slits on the drumsticks about 2 to 3 inches wide and deep. Rub the marinade on the chicken really well and let it sit for 30 Minutes to overnight in a refrigerator covered.
  • When you are ready to cook, grease the air fryer basket with oil. Then, follow your air fryer directions for preheating. When it’s preheated, working in batches, place the chicken in a single layer.
  • Air Fry for 20 Minutes, 360°F / 180°C.
  • Turn and Cook midway. Finally increase the temperature to 370°F / 188°C and Air Fry for another 5 to 10 Minutes until the skin is brown and crisp.
  • Finally, Using a meat thermometer ensure that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F / 74°C before serving. Serve with a cilantro chutney.
