Course: Desserts

Difficulty: Easy

Prep Time: 5 min

Cook Time: 20 min

Total Time: 30 min

Cooking Technique: Dual Basket Air Fryer, Air Fryer, Omni Toaster Oven

Diet: Vegetarian

Yield: 7 servings

Ingredients

  • Butter, as needed
  • 4 oz unsalted butter, room temperature, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 medium egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cup plain flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips
  • Vanilla ice cream, as needed

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Grease an 8-inch cake pan with butter on the bottom and all sides. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, place butter and sugars, and cream the mixture with an electric hand whisk until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and whisk until well combined.
  3. Add flour, soda, and salt and mix well until a smooth dough is formed.
  4. Preheat the air fryer until display indicates Add Food. Then place the prepared pan into the frying chamber.
  5. Select Air Fry and adjust the temperature to 345°F and set the time to 20 minutes. If you are using a 6-inch pan rather than 8-inch, your Pizookie will most likely take the full 20 minutes. Ignore when prompted to Turn Food.
  6. Test at 15 minutes to see if the Pizookie is done. If it is still a little gooey, then Air Fry for another 3 minutes, then test again at 18 minutes. When the Pizookie is soft in the middle and crispy on the outside, remove the pan from the air fryer basket and allow it cool for 5 minutes. Serve with a dollop of ice cream and syrups of your choice.
