Fried Sweet Plantains, or Maduros, are the perfect addition to a heaping bowl of rice and beans. Served as a savory side or with ice cream and caramel as a dessert, this recipe is sure to be an easy favorite for years to come.
4 ripe plantains peeled and cut into 1-inch slices at an angle
1 tbsp neutral oil
Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, toss plantain wedges with oil. Make sure to source plantains with black peels. Unripe plantains will not be sweet and are significantly starchier.
Air Fry plantains in a single later at 385°F for 9-11 Minutes, flipping halfway to ensure even cooking. Remove plantains when dark and golden.
