Ingredients
  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 1 large apple
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
  • Slice the apple horizontally into 8 slices. Using a circle cutter or pairing knife, remove the core in a small circle.
  • In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon, sugar, and salt. Dip each apple slice into the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated. Set aside.
  • Cut each puff pastry into 4 even rectangles. Place an apple slice in the center. Place a few drops of melted butter in the center of each apple slice.
  • Make a 1-inch slice on each side of each pastry corner, about ¼ inch from the pastry ends, making a picture frame that is still attached in the middle of each pastry side. Fold each corner into the center of the apples, pressing down slightly into the butter. Continue with all corners.
  • Place in the air fryer basket. Air fry the pastry tarts at 350°F / 175°C for 10-12 Minutes, or until golden brown and the apples are cooked. Repeat as necessary with remaining apple pastry tarts. Serve warm or room temperature!
