Ingredients

  • 5 lbs Gala apples cored and diced
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water
Be prepared for the delicious smells this recipe will create in your home! Clove and cinnamon come together with these beautiful red apples to create a silky smooth and flavorful apple butter. Pour into jars and can safely to keep your apple butter all year round.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add all ingredients to the Instant Pot and stir to combine.
  2. Pressure cook on High for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, flip the valve to release the pressure.
  3. Gently mash all ingredients together with a wooden spoon.
  4. Press Cancel then Saute, set for 20 minutes. If possible, reduce the sauté temperature to Medium. Place the lid back on with the venting valve Open.
  5. Every five minutes, open the lid and stir the apple butter. The mixture should thicken and get darker in color the longer it is cooked.
  6. After 20 minutes., puree the mixture in a blender until smooth.
  7. Distribute into jars for easy storing. The apple butter will continue to thicken as it cools. Spread apple butter on breads, use for desserts, or add into baked goods
