Nutella Babka Buns

  • 1 can refrigerated Pillsbury crescent roll dough sheet
  • 1/4 cup Nutella spread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 2 tbsp crushed Pecan
  • 4 tsp coarse cane sugar
  • Remove crescent roll sheet from package and roll out each of the crescent rolls and place each triangle flat down on a baking sheet.
  • Spread 1 tbsp of Nutella on each triangle.
  • Roll up from the lengthwise with the long side to the crescent roll as a long rope shape.
  • Use a large knife to cut each roll in half, leaving about 0.5- inch or one 2 cm of the top of the roll uncut. Twirl the two pieces around each other and tie them in a knot. This process can be messy but try not to let it get too messy, so dough and chocolate filling are an excellent separation.
  • Once you’re done tying them all, lay on a parchment paper 1 inch apart from each other.
  • In a small bowl, add egg and water, mix it all thoroughly.
  • Brush the egg wash on each bun and then sprinkle ½ tbsp of pecan pieces and 1 tsp of cane sugar.
  • Select Air Fry set the temperature to 375 °F and time to 12 Minutes
  • Press Start.
  • Once the air fryer is preheated, open the air fryer basket, lift the parchment paper with buns together, place it in the Air Fryer basket.
  • Once the cooking cycle is finished, carefully remove the buns, cool for 5 Minutes, and then serve.
