Nutella Babka Buns

Nutella Babka Buns

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated Pillsbury crescent roll dough sheet
  • 1/4 cup Nutella spread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 2 tbsp crushed Pecan
  • 4 tsp coarse cane sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Remove crescent roll sheet from package and roll out each of the crescent rolls and place each triangle flat down on a baking sheet.
  2. Spread 1 tbsp of Nutella on each triangle.
  3. Roll up from the lengthwise with the long side to the crescent roll as a long rope shape.
  4. Use a large knife to cut each roll in half, leaving about 0.5- inch or one 2 cm of the top of the roll uncut. Twirl the two pieces around each other and tie them in a knot. This process can be messy but try not to let it get too messy, so dough and chocolate filling are an excellent separation.
  5. Once you’re done tying them all, lay on a parchment paper 1 inch apart from each other.
  6. In a small bowl, add egg and water, mix it all thoroughly.
  7. Brush the egg wash on each bun and then sprinkle ½ tbsp of pecan pieces and 1 tsp of cane sugar.
  8. Select Air Fry set the temperature to 375 °F and time to 12 Minutes
  9. Press Start.
  10. Once the air fryer is preheated, open the air fryer basket, lift the parchment paper with buns together, place it in the Air Fryer basket.
  11. Once the cooking cycle is finished, carefully remove the buns, cool for 5 Minutes, and then serve.
