Black Beans and Chicken Apple Sausage


  • 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 12 ounces package chicken & apple sausage
  • 30 ounces ranch Style black beans
  • 1 1/2 tsp onion salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp chives
  • Add olive oil to the Instant Pot. Using the display panel select the SAUTE function.
  • When oil is hot, add sliced sausage, Cook and stir 3-4 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Add beans, onion salt, onion powder and brown sugar.
  • Using the display panel select the MANUAL or PRESSURE COOK function*. Use the +/- buttons and program the Instant Pot for 0 (zero) minutes.
  • When the time is up, quick-release the remaining pressure.
  • Serve topped with a dollop of sour cream and a dusting of chives.
