New Instant Pot Duo Nova makes it easy to be a great cook

With a steam auto-seal feature, quick release button, and status indicator, Duo Nova makes the most loved Instant Pot even easier to use

The newest addition to the most popular line of Instant Pots – the Duo Nova – makes pressure cooking even easier. Its innovative new lid design ensures you’ll never forget to seal the steam valve again, and makes quick steam release as easy as the push of a button. Plus you’ll never wonder what’s going on inside as the new status indicator keeps you informed every step of the way.

Prepare to be pampered by your new Duo Nova as it introduces a new level of convenience to your kitchen.

It’s all about the steam

The Instant Pot is a pressure cooker. A very fancy pressure cooker, to be sure, but beneath all the smart technology and sensors and safety features, it still relies on the magic of high pressure in a wet environment to cook food faster and healthier than other methods.

For all that pressure to build up, the cooker needs to be tightly sealed so keep the steam inside. Then once it’s done cooking, it needs to let that steam out safely.

This is where the Duo Nova truly excels: steam management.

Seals automatically

The innovative new lid design of the Duo Nova automatically seals the steam release, meaning you’ll never again forget to seal your cooker.

Just like the other Duos, when you close the lid of the Duo Nova you twist it to lock it in place. The difference with the Duo Nova is that when you do this, a mechanical trigger also closes the steam release valve and seals your Instant Pot for pressure cooking.

Quick-release button

Once cooking is done, you can either let the steam release naturally over the course of a few minutes until the float valve pin drops to show that it’s ready to open, or if you want a quick release, just press the quick release button to let the pressure out.

It’s fast, safe, and very simple to use.

Know what your cooker is thinking

Okay, maybe you can’t get inside the Duo Nova’s microprocessor brain to know what it’s thinking, but you’ll never wonder what’s happening inside it because it’s new status indicator will always tell you what stage of the cooking process it’s at.

More to love about the most loved Instant Pot

The Duo Nova is 7 appliances in 1: pressure cooker, sauté pan, steamer, slow cooker, rice cooker, food warmer, and yogurt maker. Clear the clutter from your counter and do it all with just one tool. Available in 3, 6, and 8 Quart sizes.

And because it shares the most trusted name in cookers, you can be sure the Duo Nova brings all the quality and convenience that have made Instant Pot the favorite name in small kitchen appliances.

Hello, I just bought the Lux60 V3 model, and I want to make the Sesame Chicken dinner, along with steamed Rice & Broccoli.
Can I make this meal altogether or do I need different tools, pots, etc.

      Hi Linda,

If they have a similar cooking time you can cook pot-in-pot method that uses any oven safe dish. The dish must fit on the steam rack in your inner pot with room on the sides and doesnt pass the max pressure cooking line.

Add the rice and broccoli ingredients in the inner pot. Add the trivet/steam rack on top. Then insert the oven safe dish with the sesame chicken. Put on lid and set cooking time.

Hi, if I have an older version from 2015 or 2016, are the cooking times and techniques different? I am finding my old methods for hard boiling eggs or cooking rice, for example, are not working.

      Hi Liliana,

No the cooking times should be the same. Due to the age of the unit, it may not be creating a complete seal if you haven’t replaced the seals yet. We recommend replacing them every 12-16 months. Also ensure the float valve is in good condition too.

      Hi Irene,

Typically cooking time remains the same, the difference would be a shorter preheating time. This is because pressure cookers, cook by thickness and not amount of food. For example, rice, the rice grain size remains the same if you are cooking 1 cup or 3, it will take longer to come to pressure the more rice you have but the cooking time will remain the same. The only time you would have to adjust time is when the thickness varies. Roasts of different sizes will need to be cooked at different times.

      Hi Arminda,

To adjust the cooking time for a smart cooking program, select the cooking program. Then within 10 seconds, just like adjusting the pressure except use the + or – buttons. This is the same for all programs except rice, which the time sets automatically.

      We hope this helps,
