Control your Instant Pot Smart WiFi using nothing more than the power of your voice
The Smart Home just got smarter. Introducing the Instant Cook skill for Alexa, which transforms the Instant Pot Smart WiFi into the easiest to use yet.
Instant Cook turns Instant Pot’s famous “press and forget” technology into “talk and walk.” Now what was once dinner at the press of a button is even easier, as you control your pressure cooker with a simple statement from anywhere Alexa can hear you.
What can it do?
The basic command to use your Instant Pot through Alexa is “cook, or “pressure cook.” For example, once you enable Instant Cook, you can turn on your Instant Pot just by saying “Alexa, pressure cook for 10 minutes.”
You can adjust the time and pressure level, as well as trigger different smart programs by calling on them by name. For example, “Alexa cook soup for 30 minutes on low.
What do you need?
The equipment you need to use Instant Cook is an Instant Pot Smart Wifi and any Amazon Alexa Echo device. You’ll also need a mobile device with the “Remote Control for Smart Wifi”, and the Alexa App.
Step 1: Set up your Smart WiFi using the “Remote Control for Smart Wifi” App. (Currently Instant Cook only works with the Smart WiFi model of Instant Pot)
Step 2: Set up your Amazon Echo device using the Alexa app.
Step 3: Link your Instant Pot smart WiFi to your Alexa smart home using the Alexa app.
Step 4: Enable the Instant Cook skill. (Currently only available in the USA on Amazon.com)
Step 5: Talk and walk!
Getting smarter with Instant Cook
Instant Pot Alexa commands are ideal for incorporating into routines. For example, you could create an Alexa routine to set your morning alarm so that at the same time it wakes you up, Alexa tells you the local weather, turns your bedroom light on to 50% dimness, turns up the heat, starts your coffee maker, and begins pressure cooking the oatmeal you put into your Instant Pot last night for 4 minutes.
Or maybe you arrive home after work and say “Alexa, I’m home” to trigger your arrival routine: Alexa gives you a news update, then plays music, turns on some lights, turns up the heat, and starts cooking dinner in your Instant Pot.
